Polscy turyści mają prawo do bezpłatnego korzystania z podstawowej opieki medycznej w nagłych przypadkach. Dobrze mieć również wykupione ubezpieczenie w razie choroby i od następstw nieszczęśliwych wypadków, aby móc liczyć na zwrot kosztów leczenia. Koszt wizyty u lekarza to ok. 20-30 euro, a każdy dzień spędzony w szpitalu kosztuje ok. 50 euro. W Chorwacji nie ma zagrożeń sanitarno-epidemiologicznych, więc szczepienia nie są wymagane.
